Top 5: Rohit Sharma's Highest Scores in T20I Cricket

Rohit Sharma, who is among the highest run scorers in the history of T20I cricket, scored five centuries for India in the T20Is.

In this article, we will talk about Rohit Sharma’s top 5 highest scores in T20I cricket.

5. 100* vs England | 2018

Rohit Sharma put up a masterclass of 100* runs from 56 balls against England in Bristol in 2018 while chasing 199 runs. Rohit’s innings included classic flick shots, his favourite pull shots, and some cheeky boundaries.

Rohit started off his innings with a six, hitting Jake Ball while coming down the track and effortlessly hitting the ball out of the park. Soon Rohit reached his fifty from 28 balls.

After his fifty, he took Liam Plunkett to the cleaners, and with a single on his 56th ball, he completed his century and sealed the match for India.

4. 106 vs South Africa | 2015

Rohit Sharma scored his first T20I hundred in 2015, hitting the South African pacers at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. South Africa were playing with four pacers, but Rohit didn’t let any of them settle.

The right-hander was off the mark in the first over with a slash over the point, and in 39 balls, he completed his fifty. After his fifty, Rohit Sharma took on Morris, Rabada, and Abbott, hitting them for boundaries, and in no time the opener completed his century, a knock that included 12 fours and 5 sixes.

Rohit’s innings was ended by Abbott. He was dismissed on the score of 106 runs from 66 balls. India lost the match despite Rohit Sharma’s great knock.

3. 111* vs West Indies | 2018

Rohit Sharma scored 111* runs from 61 balls against the West Indies, with the help of 8 fours and 7 sixes. While playing at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, Rohit struggled against the spinners in the powerplay, managing to score 25 runs from 21 balls.

Post the powerplay, the right-hander went after Carlos Braithwaite and Fabian Allen, hitting them for consecutive fours and sixes, completing his fifty and soon reaching his century from 56 balls in the last over.

2. 118 vs Sri Lanka | 2017

Had Rohit Sharma stayed till the last over against Sri Lanka in 2017, we would have witnessed him scoring the first double century in T20 cricket. That day, the right-hander completed his century from just 35 balls, reaching the milestone in 12 overs of the Indian innings.

India were facing Sri Lanka in Indore, where the whole carnage happened. Rohit started well, but he changed his gears when the part-time bowler Asela Gunaratne came to bowl.

Rohit hit him for 20 runs, which was followed by 4 consecutive sixes, which he smashed to Thisara Perera, and he completed his century with a four over the covers. Before getting dismissed on 118 runs from 43 balls, Rohit hit Chameera for a six, four, and a six.

1. 121* vs Afghanistan | 2024

Former Indian T20I captain Rohit Sharma rescued his team from the score of 22/4 and took the total to 212/4 runs by stitching a partnership of 190* runs with Rinku Singh.

Rohit struggled initially, scoring just 27 runs from 30 balls by the end of the first 10 overs. However, the opener accelerated soon and reached his half-century from 41 balls.

He was constantly targeting Saleem Safi and Azmatullah Omarzai, hitting them for boundaries consistently and completing his century from 64 balls. Also, in the last over, Rohit smashed Karim Janat for 3 consecutive sixes to post his highest T20I score of 121 not out.
