New Zealand Cricket Team: 2024-25 Home Summer Schedule

The summer of 2024-25 will be a busy affair for the New Zealand cricket team as they play host to some cracking cricketing action at home.

A plethora of visitors are set to tour the island country during the 2024-25 summer to take on their men’s and women’s teams.

England, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan will square off against the Blackcaps, while Australia women and Sri Lanka women will face the White Ferns on their New Zealand tours.

Here’s a sneak peek at New Zealand’s schedule for the 2024-25 home summer season.

New Zealand vs England (Nov – Dec 2024)

The New Zealand men’s team will commence the 2024-25 home summer by playing in the 3-match Test series against England. This will be New Zealand’s last series of the 2023-25 WTC cycle.

Christchurch will host the first match starting on November 28. The second Test will be held in Wellington from December 6 onwards. Finally, the third Test match will take place in Hamilton starting on December 14.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka (Dec 2024 – Jan 2025)

Sri Lanka will arrive shortly after the England Test series to play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs. 

The tour will start on December 28 with the first T20I, followed by the second match on December 30. Both games will be hosted in Tauranga, while the third T20I will be played in the new year on January 2 in Nelson.

The focus will then shift to ODIs, which will be crucial for New Zealand in the run-up to the 2025 Champions Trophy slated for February-March.

The first ODI is scheduled to take place in Wellington on January 5. The second 50-over game will be played in Hamilton on January 8. Auckland will play host to the last ODI match scheduled for January 11.

New Zealand vs Pakistan (Mar – Apr 2025)

After touring Pakistan for a tri-series and the Champions Trophy, the Blackcaps will take on Pakistan at home in 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs.

Christchurch will host the first T20I match on March 16. Dunedin and Auckland will host the second and third T20Is on March 18 and 21, respectively. Likewise, Tauranga and Wellington will stage the fourth and fifth T20Is on March 23 and 26, respectively.

Both teams will then head to Napier to play the first ODI on March 29. The second game will take place in Hamilton on April 2. The third ODI is scheduled to be played in Tauranga on April 5.

New Zealand Women vs Australia Women (Dec 2024 & Mar 2025)

Australia women will tour their neighbouring country twice, first for the ODIs in December 2024 and later for the T20Is in March 2025.

The ODI series will start on December 19 with the first match. The second and third ODI matches will be played on December 21 and 23, with Wellington hosting all games.

In March 2025, the White Ferns will again take on the Aussies in a 3-match T20I series.

Auckland will play host to the first T20I match scheduled for March 21. Tauranga will be decked up for the second match slated for March 23, and Wellington will host the third T20I on March 26.

New Zealand Women vs Sri Lanka Women (Mar 2025)

In between the Australia series, the White Ferns will also host the Sri Lanka women’s team for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.

The first ODI match will take place in Napier on March 4. Nelson will host the second and third ODIs on March 7 and 9, respectively.

The attention will then turn towards T20Is, with Christchurch hosting the first 2 T20Is on March 14 and 16. The third T20I game will take place in Dunedin on March 18.
