5. USA vs Canada: 21 Sixes | Dallas, 2024
In the first match of the T20 World Cup 2024, we witnessed 21 sixes being smashed in total by both the USA and Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
The USA won the toss and elected to bowl first, Canada scored 194/5 from their 20 overs, with Navneet Dhaliwal scoring 61 runs from 44 balls. Canada hit 8 sixes in their innings.
In response to Canada’s total, the USA lost two wickets early, but then Andries Gous and Aaron Jones stitched a partnership of 130 runs. Gous scored 65 runs from 46 balls, hitting 3 sixes, and Jones alone smashed 10 sixes, scoring 94* runs in 40 balls.
The USA hit 13 sixes in their innings, and they won the match by 7 wickets with 14 balls remaining.
4. England vs South Africa: 22 Sixes | Mumbai, 2016
England and South Africa were involved in a high-scoring match at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, in match 18 of the T20 World Cup 2016. A total of 459 runs were scored and 22 sixes were hit in this match.

Australia were facing the defending champions Pakistan in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2010, which they eventually won by 3 wickets with just 1 ball remaining. 22 sixes were hit between both teams.
Pakistan, batting first, scored 190/6 in their innings, with the Akmal brothers scoring their fifties. Pakistan hit 8 sixes in their 20 overs.
Australia won the iconic match on the second last ball of the match when Michael Hussey smashed the 22nd six of the match. His innings of 60 runs included 6 sixes, and Australia in total hit 14 sixes.
2. Australia vs India: 24 Sixes | Bridgetown, 2010
Australia and India faced each other at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, in match 15 of the T20 World Cup 2010. In a match where we witnessed 24 sixes, 16 of them came in the Australian innings, and interestingly, 13 came in between their openers, David Warner and Shane Watson. 1. Ireland vs Netherlands: 30 Sixes | Sylhet, 2014
A total of 30 sixes were hit between Ireland and the Netherlands in match 12 of the 2014 T20 World Cup. This history was written at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
The Netherlands had to win this match in 14.1 overs to qualify for the next round. Ireland, batting first, put up a good total of 189/4 runs on the board in their 20 overs. Andrew Poynter top-scored for them with his knock of 57 runs in 38 balls. Ireland hit 11 sixes in their innings.
The Netherlands came out with all guns blazing in reply to Ireland’s total.
