Finishing the innings is the most challenging job in T20 Cricket, and there are very few finishers in the T20 cricket world who have mastered this job.

10. Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh has a strike rate of over 230 for India in the death overs, which is the best strike rate for India among their designated finishers. However, Rinku has batted as a finisher for India in less than 10 innings and has managed to score around 200 runs.

Rinku Singh, in his short career, has shown signs of being a great finisher in T20 cricket. He came into recognition when he won the match for Kolkata Knight Riders against Gujarat Titans when they needed 29 runs off the last over. Rinku Singh smashed 5 sixes to Yash Dayal and won the game out of nowhere for his team.

9. Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia is yet another Indian finishing batter who has emerged in the last few years. Since the IPL 2022, he has been playing for Gujarat Titans, and he has won many matches for them while batting at the toughest position.

Tewatia’s strike rate in the death overs in the Indian Premier League is around 180, and he has smashed more than 35 sixes in the death overs and scored runs above 600. The left-handed batter never got a chance to play for India in the T20 format.

8. Glenn Maxwell

Australia’s spinning all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is one of the most destructive batters in the T20 arena, for Australia in T20 Internationals, he bats at a strike rate of more than 200 in the death overs; he has batted as a finisher in around 25 innings and has scored over 400 runs. 

Maxwell is always in demand in franchise cricket due to his all-around capabilities, and he has not disappointed the franchise as his strike rate around the globe as a finisher is around 205 after playing more than 90 innings. 

7. Rohit Sharma 

The Indian opener Rohit Sharma is not known much for his finishing abilities. Still, most people agree with the fact that if he is playing in the end overs for a team, then he can take the team to a massive total. According to the stats, the aggressive opener has batted in the death overs for India only over 15 innings. Still, he has scored more than 300 runs at a strike rate of above 210.

6. Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya started his cricketing journey as a finisher for Mumbai Indians in the year 2015, and he has been the finisher of the Indian team in white ball cricket since his debut in 2016. The hard-hitting all-rounder in the death overs has a strike rate above 180 in the T20 Internationals. For the Indian team, his run tally is above 700 as a finisher, and his strike rate has been over 185 since 2022.

Hardik Pandya, before playing the International T20s for India, was consistently proving himself in the domestic T20s, where his strike rate was around 185 as a finisher.

5. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, who is known to anchor the innings in T20s, has the best record in the death overs; for the Indian team in T20 Internationals, Virat Kohli has scored more than 700 runs at a strike rate of around 200. Virat’s strike rate in the death overs is better than that of the designated finishers of the Indian team; only Hardik Pandya is close to him in terms of the runs and the strike rate.

Virat Kohli’s overall T20 career strike rate is around 135, but his acceleration in the death overs makes him a great player in this format. 

4. Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard is one of the most successful finishers in T20 history. Pollard didn’t play much international cricket, and his strike rate was around 150 as a finisher.

The hard-hitting all-rounder who announced his retirement from International cricket in April 2022 still has a massive demand in franchise cricket; post his retirement Pollard has a strike rate of 190 in the global T20s; in around 50 innings, he has scored more than 800 runs and has smashed above 50 sixes. He can be seen playing in leagues like Pakistan Super League, South Africa T20  and International League T20.

3. Dinesh Karthik

In the T20 Internationals, Karthik’s famous knock came in the Nidahas Trophy Final as a finisher, where he scored 29* runs off 8 balls and won the match for India. Overall, in the T20Is, Dinesh Karthik batted as a finisher for India in 39 innings, scoring 553 runs at a strike rate of 143. Indian wicket batter made his I comeback to the Indian team in the year 2022 after a successful IPL where he scored runs at a strike rate over 180, but he failed to replicate the same performances for the Indian team and scored runs at a strike rate of just 132 as a finisher for the team

Karthik found success as a finisher in T20 tournaments. His strike rate in the end overs was around 190, and he scored more than 1500 runs from 117 innings.

2. MS Dhoni

Dhoni’s numbers as a finisher for Team India aren’t that good. He batted in the death overs for India in 67 innings, scoring 1239 runs at a strike rate of 121. But after calculating all of the T20 innings he played in the IPL, he has scored more than 2500 runs, and his strike rate has been above 185, which proves that he is an excellent finisher in the T20 format.

1. AB de Villiers

AB Devilliers in the T20 Internationals had a strike rate above 200 as a finisher, although in T20Is, he batted for only 18 innings in the Death overs. The wicketkeeper batter announced his retirement from International cricket in May 2018. After that, he focussed on playing T20 cricket globally before retiring from all formats of the game in the year 2021.

AB Devilliers, from 2018 to 2021, played 43 innings as a finisher around the leagues, Smashed runs at a strike rate of 228, Scored 814 runs, Hitting 69 sixes.
