5. England: 6 Consecutive Wins (2010-2012)
Two-time T20 World Cup-winning team England were on a 6-match winning streak that started in the 2010 edition and ended in the 2012 edition.
England, who won the T20 World Cup in 2010, started the tournament with a loss against the hosts, the West Indies. Then their second match was washed out against Ireland.
On May 6, England faced Pakistan at the Kensington Oval, Barbados, beating them by 6 wickets. This is where England’s winning streak started
The winning streak ended when they were dismissed for 80 runs, while India were defending 170 runs at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, in the 2012 T20 World Cup.
4. Australia: 6 Consecutive Wins (2010)
Similarly to England, Australia too had a 6-match-winning streak. The streak started in the 2010 T20 World Cup, when they faced Pakistan in Gros Islet, winning the match by 34 runs.
And the streak ended in the final against England, where they lost by 7 wickets. Australia, under the leadership of Michael Clarke, won all the matches in the league stage of the T20 World Cup 2010, and then they won the semi-final too by 3 wickets.
3. Sri Lanka: 6 Consecutive Wins (2009)
Sri Lanka, under Kumar Sangakkara’s captaincy, registered 6 consecutive wins in the 2009 edition of the T20 World Cup. The streak started at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, when the Sri Lankan captain scored a fifty and guided his team to the win against the Aussies by 6 wickets.
Sri Lanka’s streak ended in the final, where they faced Pakistan at the Lord’s, London. Batting first, Sri Lanka managed to score 138/6 runs on the board, with Sangakkara scoring 64* from 42 balls, but Pakistan chased down the target within 18.4 overs.
2. India: 6 Consecutive Wins (2007-2009)
India beat England by 18 runs at the Kingsmead, Durban, in the 2007 edition of the T20 World Cup, which marked the start of their 6-match winning streak.
India, who won the T20 World Cup in 2007, were off to a great start in the 2009 iteration too by beating Ireland and Bangladesh in the first two matches.
Their 6-match winning streak ended when they faced the West Indies at Lord’s, London, losing the match by 7 wickets. India then went on to lose the next two matches as well, and they were knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2009.

India, under MS Dhoni, won 7 consecutive T20 World Cup matches. The streak started in the 2012 edition by beating Pakistan and South Africa. Although India failed to qualify for the semi-finals as they had a poor net run rate, India continued to win matches in the 2014 T20 World Cup too.
India remained unbeaten in the group stage of the 2014 T20 World Cup and won the semi-final too, against South Africa, with a special knock from Virat Kohli. But India’s 7-match-winning streak ended against Sri Lanka, who won the match by 6 wickets, and India failed to defend a total of 130 runs.
